As many know, McDonald’s has been promoting their newest addition(s) to their menu, the Southern Style Chicken Sandwich and Breakfast Biscuit. Hell, they even took over the home page of youtube, which cause quite a stir with vloggers. So, outta curiosity, I decided to pick up a Southern Style Chicken Biscuit for breakfast one morning and… WTF!?!?… It tasted almost EXACTLY like Chic-Fil-A’s Chicken Biscuit!
Some of you may not understand my excitement, so allow me to delve further into my history as to explain. I grew up in the state of Georgia, the birthplace of Chic-Fil-A (read here). Therefore, we had alot of Chic-Fil-A’s in Georgia and practically everyone in/from Georgia knows how good Chic-Fil-A’s chicken is and breakfast eaters have more than likely had a Chic-Fil-A Chicken Biscuit in their lifetime. Hell, my high school actually ordered them in bulk and sold them to us at a discount while we waited in the lunch room for classes to start! However, I’ve since moved to Las Vegas, NV since 2004 and sadly there are no Chic-Fil-A’s here. So this new and mysteriosuly dubbed Southern Style Chicken Biscuit intrigued me. Of course I do it up extra. I get egg and cheese added to mine.
So, it is confirmed. McDonald’s basically copied Chic-Fil-A’s recipe! And boy did they nail it… almost. Chic-Fil-A’s biscuit taste slightly better, has a larger portion with pure white breast meat, and doesn’t make me run to the bathroom 5 mins. after eating it. But, for someone who can’t get Chic-Fil-A, this’ll do.
